Not sure what you call these overseas? Waterbikes? Anyways are they regulated where you are? Do you need a license to operate one? Reason I ask is this weekend two men drowned after losing control of the jetski they were on. This was on Friday at around 16:30 at a popular dam. Police divers were called in from the local center and we were called up as well. No joy with the recovery though, this was def the worst one I have been on. Zero vis, thick mud, debris (I got stuck in a couple of trees a few times). Quite deep as well, averaged 20m Navy divers were called in yesterday to replace us, I hope they have more luck. In South Africa you do not need a license to operate one, the guys were also not wearing lifejackets. |
