4/8/2006 - Fijian Fish #5 - Tridacna tevoroa, 1990

Devil Clam.
Alright, not strictly a fish but it is an endemic species... This clam is a relatively recent discovery and Good Gogglers know that it has already had its name changed from mbalavuana to tevoroa - derived from Fijian words for long (balavu - b is pronounced mb in Fijian) and devil (tevoro), respectively. It is also unique amongst clams in that it's fleshy bits never protrude outside of its shell.
