23/3/2006 - SARDINES!

Look at the little buggers, they're everywhere. Funny really, given that there's been hordes of them parked up off the beach for the last month or so, there's been no influx of predators aside from the occasional trevally.

I'm obsessed with them - you can barely touch them no matter how hard you try, even when they're swarming between your legs. They've caused me to become disorientated to the point of nausea twice and for intro divers they're the quickest thing to take their mind off how wierd this whole breathing thing is.

Diving the Sardine run here in SA is the most amazing experience. Millions of the little buggers and of course all the big stuff that follows :P

Most amazing thing I have ever seen was watching a pod of dolphins feeding and then WHAM a Orca took a dolphin. Up until then I had never seen one and didn't even know they were found along our coast.
