Hey guys, this is my first time posting on here. It seems pretty cool. But I would just like to share whats going on here at Dive Zero Video Magazine.
First of all, I started a scuba diving video magazine with my course director who taught me to become an open water scuba instructor, he loved the idea so much, he is now investing in it, that was last December. Since then, we added multiple divers/sports enthusiasts to the team. Plus award winning graphic designers and editors.
Please dont get me wrong, we aren't this huge company, they are mainly buddies who are helping out and who want Dive Zero to go to the top as well. Props to them.
Anyways, I flew to Grand Cayman, met up with another filmer and we got to work, filming 3 sections for Issue #1 which turned out AMAZING, way better than I expected. The sections include: Day in the Life of Justin Bongers - U/W Videographer, Mixed Tape - Wreck Specialty, Diving the Doc Polson and Paradise - an overview of what to do on Grand Cayman, including diving and everything else topside.
I then came back here to British Columbia and we filmed a section called "Spot Check" in Pavilion Lake, 1 out of the 3 lakes in the world with freshwater, let me tell you, this stuff was unbelievable, since hearing nasa was doing experiments there, we just had to go. Lakes have bad vis, period, but this lake was about 50 ft vis, caribbean style ambiance and had coral, just to weird.
We also filmed a Trick tips sections and a gear review section called Tune Up, plus many more, and we still have 2 more to come, I will let you know how those go. One includes diving in a 40 ft deep river, we only heard that this was a once in a lifetime dive. We cant wait to show you guys.
Anyways, filming and travelling was a blast, but now comes the harder part....editing. We seriously spent the last 2 months, 8 - 12 hour days, most of the week, editing the video. But every single second will be worth it. Along the way, we learned tons of stuff, had a lot of arguements, but things are almost done, and we cant wait to start on Issue #2.
We will also be at DEMA 2006 in Orlando Florida this year, meeting companies and giving out as many teasers as we can to the public, but the real high definition dvd to businesses. Things should be picking up once the first issue is out.
If you guys will be there, PLEASE stop by and chat it up with us.
Anyways, I am out of here, back to editing, check out the progression of our site if you like, we are currently having our second photo contest and featured article submissions or video are always accepted. Thank you for reading this and HAVE FUN DIVING.
