Nudi identified!!
After a few days of being unable to ID my little Nudibranch, I emailed Dave Behrens, author of Pacific Coast Nudibranchs... Here is his response:
"Hi Missy:
This is a huge find. Wow. Outstanding.
This is Sakuraeolis enosimensis, introduced from Japan some time ago. I reported it?s occurrence in one of my very early papers.
Your observation is the only occurrence outside of SF Bay I am aware of. I will cite you in the new edition."
Not to shabby eh? heheh...... My little guy is famous!!! I'm so proud

I'm so proud of you.
I can now say I knew you when...:-)
Will you still remember me when you're famous?

Gag me with a spoon
Swapping fluids... really, this is a family web site! Just teasing you two.
Very interesting find. Congratulations to the two of you.
Of course the sad thing is that this is a range extension for yet another exotic species introduced to our waters, most likely through trans-Pacific shipping. Wonder what the ecological impacts might be.
