Well the guy in my life (he really doesnt
have the b/f title yet...complicated situation :P) could not dive with
me this weekend because it rained! Only when it is 50/50 chance of rain
does it rain against me when I want to dive!! He had to work yesterday,
so it would have been night diving...or more like Dusk to Dawn diving.
Anyhow, then there was the Harley ride planned for today...I am getting
use to motorcycles, since I had a bad experience when I was younger, I
havent ridden on a motorcycle in about 17 years. Anyhow, I trust
him implicitly, so I am learning to enjoy the ride. Maybe next
weekend will yield some better weather more suitable for diving. You
East & West Coasters have it made!!!

Weather to dive or not
Weather... one of the reasons I left the Midwest 36 years ago. I grew up in the Chicago area. Cold windy winters (I experienced the record low of 81 below with the wind chill back in 1982-83), thunderstormy springs, hot muggy buggy summers, reasonable falls.
Sure southern California can be a bit bland weather wise, but I rarely have to worry about the weather deciding whether I will dive or not!
Sorry you weren't able to take that dip.

I'm in Milwaukee. So that about sums up my existance - weather-wise at least. My wife is getting her phd in chicago, so it'll be a few years till we move out of the area. Hopefully, she'll decide to teach somewhere warmer (and near the ocean :D).

That Depends
Hmmm... better schools near here to pursue a PhD. Of course that all depends on what field she is in. As for me, mine came from UCSB which is not only a very beautiful school right on the ocean (with LOTS of parties), but also at the time the top research school in the field.
