Day one of my AOW pretty much sucked!!!! I am the only girl, which
shouldnt be an issue, but we have an "Alpha Male" who is prior military
who thinks that he is the stuff! I have been diving for ten years, and
he was recently certified, and he is giving me advice!! Telling me what
to do because I am a female!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
And to make matters worse, he not only insulted my intelligence, he
called me a "Femme Nazi" because I didnt need his help on something.
Nothing pisses me off more! I came to dive, learn and have fun!
And the icing on the cake was that I let him get so inside my head that I about lost it underwater. I have NEVER paniced!
Even when I was in Bonaire and got stuck inbetween some coral on a night dive at Town Pier.... I NEVER PANIC!
So Bill, that was my day! Wish I was in Catalina!!!!!!!!  SO take Missy there today and you all have fun!

to hear that. The new diver sounds like many of the divers back in the early daze when it was largely a male dominated sport. Sorry that he got into your head... what a bummer. Have to find a way to tune idiots like that out. Calling you a femme Nazi... how absurd. Obviously not one of great mental capacity or civility, and can't deal with an independent woman. Maybe you should just call him on it, forcefully. Often guys like that are startled into silence by a strong woman's reaction. Hope the next few classes go better for you.

There is NO reason for that guy to be that way- totally unacceptable! Is there a way you can switch to another class? Or just give him a good kick somewhere that it hurts (while underwater of course)... blame it on "oh sorry, my mask was fogged... didnt see you there".. heheh

you kind of have to deal with them in every walk
of life, so just think how much fun you'll have
once you can start picking your own buddies!
