Wreckreational Diving

12/17/2005 - Wrecks and Reefs

What a fun day of diving today was. Despite my continuing drysuit leakage I had three incredible dives. I went onboard my buddy Ross-O's boat for a couple wreck dives and a dive on Buchanan's Reef offshore at Marineland. We didn't find the number of nudibranchs there I do on the main reef, but we had a blast with the great visibility and a Pipefish that decided to nap on my hand. Ross took several pictures that I hope to share later.

The wrecks we dived today were the Jenny Lynne, a fishing trawler that sank off Marineland two years ago and the F.S. Loop, an old lumber ship that was scuttled off the Los Angeles Federal breakwall. Visibility today was over forty feet in places, excellent for nearshore diving.
