3/11/2009 - Getting Tossed In The Salad Bowl

I wanted to shoot some video for the first time in a few years, and the surf at Vet's was low enough to give it a try today. I dropped into the Salad Bowl and spent several minutes before I found anything other than sand, kelp and myself being tossed in the salad. During the lulls I managed to find a few nudibranchs and crabs, but holding the camera still was quite a challenge. With a large battery pack for the lights underneath the housing, the lens is about six inches above the sand. Unfortunately, most of the life at Vet's is on the sand, so I had to tilt the housing and hold on in the surge.
Visibility was about twelve feet, which was eleven feet more than reported last night.
