7/7/2007 - New Gear At An Old Dive Site

Merry and I went to Marineland but the water is still too muddy for diving. We decided to make a quick dive at Veteran's Park in Redondo Beach just to get our gear wet. Dawn and Ron from Pacific Wilderness warned us about the thermoclines, but they weren't too bad. We felt the first one at nine feet, then another at 59 feet. My computer registered a 15 degree drop from a miserably warm 70F+ at the surface.
Not much life out today, but we got to try out some new gear. I like my new LED light better than my Halcyon HID canister light. It's much less expensive to repair.
