9/2/2006 - First Completely Dry Dive In Awhile

I made my first dive in my new Diving Concepts drysuit today. The only wetness I felt was from the sweat. I got to Marineland at 6:00 so I could make two dives before it got too hot. Just as I was getting into my kit I realized the new inflator was a different size than my old one. I took my gear off and rushed home. After getting the new hose, I joined Jeff and Merry for a very fun dive. I gave Jeff my old suit, so it was a first for him as well. It was also the first dive I did not give Merry my full attention. She entered the water, descended and looked around at the marinelife without being glued to my side. It was so much fun watching her enjoy the dive so much. It was as if she had spread her wings and learned to fly. We were never more than fifteen feet apart, but I didn't feel a need to constantly monitor her.

She found the Hopkin's Rose nudibranch.
