4/2/2006 - Special Guest At Marineland

I was treated to something special at Marineland today. Well, lots of special treats there, but one in particular stood out. We found a Dendronotus iris nudi on the main reef. I have only found them in sandy plains before at La Jolla Shores and Redondo Canyon. I also spotted a 1/16" Blue-ring Topsnail. The vis was down from yesterday due to the surf, which caused a lot of surge. It makes it very difficult to take nudi pictures when you can't hold still.
