Got Bugs on the Brain!

I can't wait to start lobster hunting!  This will be my first year and I've already started asking the veteran ScubaBoarder's for their tips and tricks.    Sounds like it's going to be a blast wrestling with those bugs.   Yee Ha!   Probably going to spend 25% of the time laughing thru the reg.

So, definitely need to pick up my DFG tags today and get the rest of my lights... oh and pair of thick leather work gloves.   Then I'll be ready to rock the weekend I get back from La Paz.

Let's go buggin'!!!!

My first entry, my first year.....

I'm approaching my 1 year anniversary as a certified diver.... it's late October to be exact.   So far the scuba journey has been amazing.   Ever so appropriate to be starting my dive blog now.

Probably the coolest thing (well one of many): All of the wonderful Divers I've met!  Wow, absolutely amazing people.   All walks of life, beliefs, ages, theories on diving, theories on gear, personalities....  I can't just narrow it down to So Cal divers either.   Just great people and good times.

The second coolest thing - turns out diving Laguna is a great physical workout (oh and running too)... lost 45 pounds this year.  Went from diving with 32 pounds of lead and a AL80 and down to 10-12 pounds with a ST80.

Was able to a variety of laguna coves, parts of Catalina and soon to be added to the list, La Paz, Mexico.

Certifications - yeah the basics plus rescue and Catalina Convservancy Research Diver.   I'm actually really proud of the Research Diver aspect - I feel like I'm doing something important and Catalina has a sincere fondness to me.

Through diving, I've learned to build bridges and not burn them down.   I've developed wonderful friendships, where most would turn and head the other direction.   I've learned to really stop and think... being aware of my surroundings and my dive buddies.   I've learned that visualizing a kelp forest filled with Kelp Bass and Blacksmith actually calms me down.

Turns out, diving just rocks.
