got to Peacock today; didn't forget my c-card this time.
first we dove Orange Grove Sink (we opted to dive the cavern,
down to 90 feet, rather than the cave). great dive, though it was
rather silty (there must have been a team or teams in there
ahead of us, but we didn't see them).
highlight of the day number one: i led, and laid the line.
i managed not to tangle up my reel this time (i know this
will come as a shock to those who know me...but... it's
true). kept it untangled all the way in, all the way out.
normally, my reel becomes an unmanageable mess within
4.3 seconds of me deploying it. Andy 1, Peacock 0.
highlight of the day number two: upon exiting Orange Grove
Sink, on the way to the picnic tables, all of a sudden i hear
a terrible hissing and something banging against my torso.
wouldn't you know it, my seven-foot hose had busted at the
seam with the regulator, and had freed itself. it was basically
snaking around, flailing. i don't know how on earth it didn't get
my face or hurt me, but it didn't. i grabbed a hold of it, and howard
(my buddy) turned off the air. had to run to cave excursions
to see what could be done. Bill tried fixing it, but i ended up
buying a new hose. all set to go. Andy 2, Peacock 0.

line arrow at the Main Tunnel, Peacock 1. it indicates 300 feet to the neareast exit
After a brief lunch, down we went to Peacock 1, and headed down
the Main Tunnel. there was not much of a current (Peacock usually has
zero current, but with the heavy rains and the flooding, it's been quite
fast of late; today, there was a slight current, but not anything like last
month). we made it in to 400 feet, and thumbed the dive on my air.
on the way out, i took the picture of the line arrow above.
