Dive Report: Deadman's July 3, 2006Hello everyone,
Met up with Frank O (Scubaboarder) for an early morning dive at North Cresent before heading in to work (I hate those four letter words especially on a Holiday Weekend!) Sigh.....
Anyway, geared up and made our way to the water.
Surf: 2-4' initially; calmer upon exit
Swell: Moderate
Surge: Min to moderate, even at depth
Viz: 5' at depth; 10+ in the shallows
Max Depth: 60'
Temp: 57' Termocline at 30'
Bottom Time: 61'
Made it past the surf without incident to our drop down point. Headed over to Deadhenge where we noticed increasing marine life: Bugs, Kellets Welk, Kelp Bass.
On the main reef, we saw the usual critters including the largest male Sheephead I had ever seen...about 3 feet long! He was Giagantic!!! Spotted three Spanish Shawls hanging out together, a number of Cabezon, bugs, Blacksmith, Black Eyed Goby's, Girabaldi's protecting their nests, ect.
Coming across the sand on the way back to shore, spotted a lone Sea Pansy and a Sheep Crab waving his 'claw' at us.
Also found an anchor on the dive, so if anyone knows of a boater that might be missing one, let me know.
