Can't See A Thing Down Here

Anyone have an opinion??

What a dumb question "anyone have an opinion"...  of course divers have opinions...

So, here's the thing... it has been suggested on Scubaboard.com that the most common problem for which we receive NO training is an inflator stuck in the ON position.  Now, I can see how that can happen!!  SAND!! So, should we practise holding the deflate button with the left hand while disconnecting the LP hose with the right?  With 5mil gloves?

Just a cusiosity...

I normally teach people in the pool to deal with this; I get them to hold the inflate button in (to simulate continual inflation) while battling it out with the LP hose to disconnect it. Rather than pushing the deflate button, you can tug on your inflator hose to activate that dump valve on your shoulder should your BC become excessively full very quickly before you can get your hose disconnected...

I did think this was standard practice though in the PADI course; I know disconnecting the LP hose is part of Confined Water training...
